Plants defend themselves from parasite infections also thanks to a mechanism known as Systemic Activated Resistance-SAR. In fact, an internal process is activated, mediated by the formation of salicylic acid, which leads to the synthesis of proteins active on the penetration organs of the pathogen or on the pathogen itself

In sensitive plants, Bion induces Acquired Systemic Resistance by replacing salicylic acid.
