Description

SYNGENTA SWITCH FUNGICIDE ANTIBOTRITICO FIGHT AGAINST GRAY MOLD BOTRYTIS KG. 1

ANTIBOTRITIC FUNGICIDE FOR VINES AND HORTICULTURAL CROPS, SPECIFIC AGAINST MONILIOSIS OF DRUPACEOUS AND BROWN SPOTLING OF PEAR.

Characteristics and fields of application

SWITCH is an innovative fungicide in water-dispersible granules for the defense against gray mold and other rottenness of numerous crops. Complementary and synergistic association of 2 new active ingredients with different mechanisms of action (Fludioxonil, phenyl-pyrrole and Ciprodinil, anilinopyrimidine), SWITCH is now established as the new benchmark for efficacy and duration of protection.

With translaminar and covering activity, it is also effective against populations of resistant fungi or only partially sensitive to other fungicides on the market. Selective towards bees and the most common and important useful insects and mites, SWITCH is perfectly suited to integrated defense programs. SWITCH does not influence the ripening of the grapes, the fermentation and winemaking processes and the organoleptic qualities of wines.

The recent extension against the secondary rottenness of the bunch (Aspergillus spp. And Penicillium spp.) Make SWITCH unique in this field of use.

Botrytis or gray mold, caused by the polyphagous and ubiquitous fungus Botrytis cinerea, is one of the main diseases of the vine, present in all Italian regions. The damage caused by botrytis, in addition to the loss of production, is above all of a qualitative nature, by virtue of the alterations that this fungus causes to the composition of must and wine.

It is therefore essential to protect the vineyard from possible infections of botrytis which, in favorable climatic conditions for the pathogen, can be unleashed independently. To counteract its development it is necessary to adopt preventive agronomic measures, taking care of the vegetoproductive balance of the vineyard, favoring aeration around the clusters and avoiding lacerations of the berries by other pathologies (e.g. powdery mildew) or insects (moths in particular) .

Should agronomic practices prove insufficient to contain this problem, it is necessary to resort to treatments with specific antibotritics. The key moments for anti-tritic defense are the cluster pre-closure phase and the veraison / pre-harvest phase; the pre-closure treatment is fundamental as it allows the agropharmaceutical to reach the internal parts of the bunch which, from that stage onwards, are no longer reachable.

Switch by Syngenta is the reference point for the fight against botrytis, for its superior effectiveness and duration of action and the greater protection capacity of the bunch. It consists of the association of two active substances, Cyprodinil and Fludioxonil, both very effective in counteracting the development of gray mold, which ensure maximum results, working in synergy. Switch, thanks to its unique composition, has a high resistance to washout and a long persistence of action, characteristics that allow to manage the harvest according to the weather conditions and to carry it out at the right degree of ripeness of the grapes, an indispensable condition to obtain high quality productions.

It is used at a dose of 0.8 kg / ha, taking care to wet the clusters evenly, preferably by performing dedicated treatments localized to the productive zone, where the training method allows it. Switch has a favorable toxicological and ecotoxicological classification, does not interfere with the ripening and winemaking processes and does not create any export problems in the main importing countries of Italian wine in the world. Furthermore, Switch, used in the veraison / pre-harvest phase (respecting the 21-day safety interval), is able to counteract the development of potentially very dangerous secondary molds. Among these, the most important are some species of the genera Aspergillus and Penicillium, respectively potential producers of dangerous mycotoxins (Ochratoxin) and unpleasant odors (Geosmin) in wine, sufficient to alternate the aromatic profile.
