The ingredients
The ingredients contained in the cans supplied by LARIX for the production of beer are completely of natural origin without the addition of preservatives and any additives. The cans contain a mix of malt and hops and a sachet containing brewer's yeast. Malt, derived from the processing of cereals (especially barley), is the fundamental ingredient of beer. To obtain the malt, the cereals are sprouted and dried. Depending on the temperature and drying time, different types of malt with different color and aroma can be produced which will then give rise to the different types of beer. Hop is a climber of the same family as the mulberry and elm nettle. The part used to flavor beer is the flower, or cone from which essential oil and resinous substances are extracted. The hops gives the beer a characteristic "bitter" taste, it has always been used also for its quality as a natural preservative. Yeasts are microorganisms of the fungi family: they are the fermentation agents that allow the sugars present in the malt and any added sugars to be transformed into alcohol, acids and carbon dioxide. Using Coopers malts it is possible to produce a completely natural beer, without additives, which does not require any additional process for its conservation (pasteurization, filtration, etc.) and which thus preserves important nutrients such as vitamins, mineral salts, antioxidants and micronutrients.
