Oliocin is a highly refined mineral oil with a high degree of unsulfonability (95 °).
Oliocin exerts its insecticidal activity on eggs by preventing gaseous exchanges between the embryo and the atmosphere. Against the other stages of the phytophages it acts by asphyxia by covering the body with a thin film and penetrating by capillarity into their tracheal ducts, occluding them.
