Stainless steel 12C27M Sandvik

• Sandvik's modified 12C27 stainless steel developed for Opinel is known for its cutting and easy maintenance. The capable stainless steel to undergo the heat treatment that gives it its excellent hardness is called Martensitic. It has a carbon percentage of at least 0.40% this allows to obtain a very satisfactory cut without being sensitive to corrosion. Blade hardness 57-58 HRC

Matte black blade

• This black blade has a matte effect and is more resistant to corrosion than a traditional stainless steel blade. This blade is more sensitive to the risk of scratches, be careful not to use abrasive products or sponges to clean it.

Handle

• The decoration of this handle is made by the process of sublimation 3-D. This printing technique allows you to cover the entire surface of the handle perfectly marrying the contours, thus giving a unique character to the knife.

Black safety ring

• Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is present on all knives that can be closed starting from N°06. Carved in stainless steel, The Virobloc consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part.
