Description
OPINEL INOX N. 8 TOUR DE FRANCE MAILLOT VERT KNIFE
TECHNICAL FEATURES
- Tour de France limited special edition
- blade length 8.5 cm
- Yatagan blade
- The traditional Opinel blade is called the Yatagan blade. Its shape is inspired by a Turkish saber, the point up. The blade is ground from a unique curved profile which ensures the strength of the blade and allows for efficient regrinding.
- Sandvik stainless steel
- The 12C27 stainless steel Sandvik modified developed for Opinel is renowned for its cutting edge and ease of maintenance. Stainless steel capable of heat treatment that it undergoes from which it gets good hardness is called martensitic. It has a carbon content of at least 0.40%, which makes it possible to obtain a very satisfactory cutting edge without being subject to corrosion.
- safety ring
- Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc team safety ring closing all knives from No. 06. Cutting from stainless steel, Virobloc consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. Besides locking the blade in the open position (safety of use), it is now possible to lock the blade in the closed position (transport lock).
