TECHNICAL FEATURES
Composition: TRI-ACT FRONTLINE Spot-On solution for dogs contains 1 ml: I fipronil 67.6 mg, 504.8 mg permethrin and butylhydroxytoluene (E321) 1.125 mg. Indications for use: For the treatment and prevention of fleas and / or ticks when a repellent effect (antifeeding) against sand flies, lice and / or mosquitoes needed.
For the treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis) and the prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides canis). Flea (C. felis) die within 24 hours after applying the drug.
One treatment prevents flea infestation for 4 weeks. It can be used as part of the flea allergy dermatitis treatment strategy when it has been previously diagnosed by a veterinarian. It is effective
tick repellent (Dermacentor reticulatus) 7 days to 4 weeks after treatment. It is effective as an acaricide with immediate action against Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Ixodes ricinus, but if ticks are present when the product is applied, not all of them may die within 48 hours after treatment. It is effective as an acaricide with a persistent action against ticks (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor reticulatus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus) for 4 weeks. It is effective as a repellent (antifeeding) for 3 weeks against sand flies (Phlebotomus perniciosus) for 4 weeks of mosquitoes (Culex pipiens). It is effective as a persistent insecticide action for three weeks against sand flies (Phlebotomus perniciosus).
It has a repellent effect and kills the stable fly (Stomoxys calcitrans) for
five weeks.
Contraindications: For use in dogs. Do not use on cats or rabbits, as adverse reactions can occur, including resulting in death.
Special precautions for use: In the absence of specific studies, its use is not recommended in dogs less than 8 weeks of age or in dogs weighing less than 2 kg. It can induce seizures in cats which can be fatal because it is unable to metabolize certain compounds, including permethrin. In case of accidental exposure to the skin, wash the cat with shampoo or soap. To prevent accidental exposures to cats it should be kept away from treated dogs until the application area is dry.
It is important to ensure that cats do not lick the application site in a treated dog. In case of exposure to these types, consult a veterinarian immediately.
Adverse reactions: General skin reactions (skin discoloration, local hair loss, itching, redness and itching) or general hair loss have been observed very rarely after transient application. Excessive salivation, reversible neuropathological symptoms or vomiting may also be observed. If licking the application site, it can be transient hypersalivation and vomiting. Use during pregnancy and lactation: Use only according to the benefit / risk assessment by the responsible veterinarian. Dosage: The minimum recommended dose is 6.76 mg of fipronil / kg and 50.48 mg permethrin / kg equivalent to 0.1 ml spot-on solution per kg.
