MARCONI DWARF BEAN WITH BLACK SEED GR. 500

Bean to eat both green and with large seeds; it never forms the thread even at advanced ripening.

Sowing can be done in two different periods: in late April-early May, or in July; in the first case, given that the minimum ripening cycle is 60 days, the harvest takes place in late June-early July, in the second in September. The maturation is gradual, therefore the harvest lasts for a period of 40 days. The variety is climber and needs support; the flowers are violet. It needs fertile land and irrigation; the most frequent pathologies are aphids, red spider and downy mildew.

Observations on the traditionality, the homogeneity of the diffusion and the protraction over time of the production rules: The pods are about 10-15 cm long and contain 5-6 black grains when ripe; the characteristic of this green bean to be eaten in the grass is that once the grab has taken place it remains tender and does not form the thread. It is prepared boiled and seasoned with oil or cooked with tomatoes.
