TANGIT UNI-LOCK SEALING WIRE FOR FITTINGS MT. 160

Pre-coated multi-wire sealant for threaded pipes.

FIELDS OF USE

Tangit Unilock is ideal for sealing threaded components such as fittings and joints, both with parallel and

conical, on steel, galvanized steel, brass, copper, stainless steel, galvanic treatments and plastic. It is used for

pipes carrying water, cold or hot, up to a temperature of + 130 ° C and for gas pipes.

Particularly suitable in situations where the assembled threaded parts must be immediately ready for

use and may require minor adjustments before use itself.

Tangit Unilock resists the most common gases and fluids.

It is recommended for use up to a maximum of 4 ”in diameter.

Chemical resistance: gas of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd family; hot and cold water.

Approval for drinking water, both hot and cold, according to KTW (Germany).

Complies with EN 751-2 for ARp class compound, which forms the basis for DVGW approval.

TECHNICAL FEATURES

Chemical nature: Polyamide with inert paste coating

Appearance: White

Usage temperature: -20 ° C to + 130 ° C

Pressure resistance: up to 690 bar (3/8 "NPT steel pipe and fitting - assembled and pretensioned to 27 Nm before

test at 69MPa with hydraulic pressure at + 23 ° C according to ASTM D 1599)

STORAGE

Containers must be kept sealed until use. For long-term storage the product

it must be stored in a cool and dry place.

The shelf life of the well preserved product is at least 24 months.

METHOD OF USE

Preparation of the parts

If necessary, use a brush to clean the metal threads. It is recommended to roughen the surfaces of

fittings (e.g. with a toothed blade before application).

Application

The thread must be wound on the thread in the direction of the thread itself starting

from the outer end. For a better sealing result the recesses in the thread must be

filled without completely covering the tops.

The wire can be cut to the desired length using the cutter placed on the top of the dispenser.

The coil of wire is wound in a spiral inside the container and unwinds without entangling favoring

easy application. Make sure that the product is applied with a certain pre-tension. The

number of windings to be made around the threaded part depends on the diameter of the part

itself.
