GREEK BASIL is an annual aromatic plant, belonging to the Lamiaceae family, Basil is originally from India (where it is considered a sacred plant and, therefore, is not used in cooking), even if it immediately spread throughout Europe. The cultivar "Greek Basil" (or "Minimum" or "ball") is characterized by light green leaves, very small and pointed with a particularly intense fragrance and, in fact, by the bushy growth in the shape of a balloon. It produces the usual white flowers, but is used as an ornamental plant or for borders even when it is not yet in bloom.
