Description
KITCHEN HERBS BORAGE SEEDS
- Borage is an annual herbaceous plant, has rather large, oval, petiole leaves of an intense green color and beautiful star-shaped blue-purple flowers. The whole plant is covered with a thick fluffy down. The flowers and leaves are both edible, but it is preferable to eat, especially the latter, cooked. The aroma given to the dishes is similar to the taste of cucumber. The leaves are used cooked like spinach in soups. From the seeds it is also possible to obtain, cold, an oil rich in fatty acids that can be used in the kitchen as a condiment or for external use to nourish and repair dry skin.
- Borage can be sown in the months from April to June and from October to November, it can be harvested from May to August.
Sowing Tips:
- Protected sowing: March
- Sowing outdoors: April to June and September to October
- Harvest: from May to August
